Snap is rolling out several new updates to its Snapchat platform, introducing features like message editing, emoji reactions, and AI-enhanced functions. One notable addition allows users to correct messages after sending them. This feature is limited to a five-minute window after sending and is only available if the recipient hasn't yet opened the message. Initially, this option will be exclusive to Snapchat Plus subscribers.

The trend of post-send message editing is expanding across various platforms. Companies like Meta have already implemented this feature in Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and it's also available in iOS 16.

Further improving its AI capabilities, Snapchat has introduced new functionalities tied to its OpenAI-powered My AI chatbot. Users can now set reminders for deadlines, and the AI will track these with a countdown to help ensure no important dates are missed. Snapchat is also introducing the ability to create custom Bitmoji outfits using AI and AI Lenses.

For those who prefer simpler interactions, Snapchat has now added the ability to send standard emoji reactions to messages. The app also introduces map reactions, allowing users to react to friends’ locations when they pass by during a commute or arrive at work.

These features are currently available on Snapchat, with message editing for Plus subscribers set to launch soon.
