Slack has made its AI features available to all premium users, following a period where they were only accessible to a select group. This expansion comes after a year long testing phase.

The AI tools include a recap function for channels, which provides summaries of key discussions and updates missed by users. This feature pulls relevant details from channel conversations, delivering summaries on various topics, from team events to business updates.

There is also a recap tool for threads, which condenses these smaller interactions into brief summaries. Users can choose to receive daily summaries of channel or thread activities each morning. Another addition is the conversational search feature, enabling users to find specific discussions or topics within channels using natural language queries.

The AI support also now extends to Japanese and Spanish. Further developments are expected later this year which include an integration with Salesforce’s Einstein Copilot.
