Marantz has introduced its new wireless streaming amplifier, the MODEL M1. This compact device is designed for both new and experienced hi-fi users. The MODEL M1 delivers 100W of stereo output, suitable for a variety of speaker types, from small bookshelf units to large floor-standing models, with a low distortion rate of 0.005% THD through its digital inputs.

Users can opt to add a subwoofer for a 2.1-channel system, with adjustable high-pass and low-pass filter frequencies and a +/-15dB subwoofer level trim. The amplifier supports high-resolution audio formats, including 24-bit/192kHz PCM and DSD.

The MODEL M1 incorporates Marantz's Music Digital Filtering (MMDF) technology, first developed for their high-end CD players, extending digital processing capabilities to all audio sources. The HEOS app provides access to various music services, with upcoming updates for TIDAL and Roon Ready support. The MODEL M1 also supports Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and AirPlay2. Audio files can be played from a USB-A drive.

For legacy analog devices, the MODEL M1 offers connectivity for vinyl turntables, cassette decks, and FM tuners, though it does not include a phono stage. Line-level RCA analog inputs are available for these devices.

The MODEL M1 can also be used as a TV soundbar alternative, featuring an eARC HDMI input for control via the TV remote, including volume, mute, and power functions. Dolby Digital+ decoding supports broadcast and streaming audio services, with features like Dialogue Enhancer for clearer voices at lower volumes and a Virtual mode for a three-dimensional sound field from stereo content.

The amplifier can share music with other HEOS-compatible devices around the home, controlled via the HEOS app. It is compatible with third-party control systems like Crestron, Control4, and URC, and supports IR learning for other remote-control brands.

The Marantz MODEL M1 is available starting today with an MSRP of $1,000.
