Roku has introduced a new version of its flagship Ultra streaming device, featuring several upgrades aimed at improving the user experience. The most significant enhancement is a new quad-core processor, which is designed to deliver smoother streaming, supporting 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. It also supports WiFi 6, offering faster and more stable connectivity. According to Roku, the new Ultra is 30% faster than its previous models.

The device comes with the Voice Remote Pro, which includes backlit buttons and USB charging. The remote also adds two new features: quick launch buttons for easy access to preferred apps and a live TV guide button.

In addition to hardware improvements, Roku has also made updates to its content recommendations and user interface. One of the most notable changes is the revamped Roku Mobile App, which not only acts as a virtual remote but now also provides personalized content suggestions. Users can browse IMDb ratings and discover new shows or movies without opening additional windows. Sports fans will appreciate the ability to follow their favorite teams directly from the app, even while away from home.

Roku has made slight modifications to the home screen as well, introducing a new “Kids & Family” section for child-friendly content. Users can now like or dislike recommendations, which gives them more control over future suggestions tailored to their viewing habits.

The updated Ultra device also benefits from machine learning technology, which predicts which app the user will open next, speeding up app launch times. Other notable features include wireless headphone support, a remote finder function, and customizable shortcuts on the remote for quick access to apps or channels.

Roku’s latest upgrades are part of its ongoing efforts to refine its streaming ecosystem, with the Voice Remote Pro bundled alongside the Ultra for enhanced user convenience.
