Roku Launches Pro Series TVs Packed with Advanced Features
Initially revealed at CES earlier this year, Roku has launched its Pro Series TVs offering an array of features. Among the highlights is the Mini LED backlighting. These 4K televisions come equipped with QLED panels, supporting HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The inclusion of a quad-core processor aims to improve user experience with quicker menu navigation and faster app loading times. These TVs are also Wi-Fi 6 enabled.
When it comes to audio, the Pro Series includes Dolby Atmos side-firing speakers. They're designed to work seamlessly with both wireless and wired sound systems, including soundbars, speakers, subwoofers, and offer Bluetooth connectivity. A newly designed remote control features motion-activated backlit buttons, USB-C charging, and additional shortcut keys.
A new feature this year in these TVs is the integration of a neural processing unit (NPU), which enables advanced OS functionality. One such feature, Smart Picture Max, leverages AI to auto-select the optimal picture settings depending on the content being watched, and adjusts color, sharpness, and motion, alongside adaptive brightness based on the ambient light in the room.
Although Smart Picture Max is exclusive to the Pro Series, Roku plans to introduce more OS enhancements across all its TV models. An upcoming feature, Backdrops, will allow users to display a variety of screensavers, including famous artworks or personal photos. Later this year, there will also be deeper integration with IMDB that will improve the content browsing process with detailed information of the movie or TV show.
The Pro Series TVs are now available for purchase through retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart, with prices starting at $900 for the 55-inch model and going up to $1,700 for the 75-inch model. A compatible wall-mount kit is also offered for $100.
