Motorola's G Stylus 5G 2024 Offers New Design and Improved Camera
Motorola has launched its latest smartphone, the G Stylus 5G for 2024, featuring a refined stylus and an upgraded design, all priced at $399. The company's announcement highlights the phone's 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The improved multitasking capabilities allow users to simultaneously take notes and watch videos.
The redesigned stylus offers a larger contact area and software improvements for a more fluid interaction. A new user interface activates when engaging with stylus-specific functions, and a customizable menu for frequently used apps appears upon removing the stylus.
Design-wise, the 2024 Moto G Stylus 5G features a vegan leather back panel. It includes Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 for screen protection and an IP52 rating for water resistance. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, maintaining a competitive edge in processing power.
Camera capabilities are robust with a vertical dual-camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and Ultra Pixel technology for better low-light performance, and a 13MP ultrawide camera. The front camera is a 32MP unit with a centered punch-hole design. Battery life is impressive with a 5,000mAh capacity, supporting over a day's usage. It features 30W wired and 15W wireless charging, capable of a quick power boost in just 30 minutes.
The phone runs on Android 14 and comes in configurations of 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. It also supports NFC, includes a 3.5mm headset jack, a USB-C port, and Bluetooth 5.1.
In the U.S., the G Stylus 5G 2024 will be available from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and directly from Motorola's website, retailing at $399 in Scarlet Wave and Caramel Latte colors starting on May 30. Motorola plans to extend the availability of the device to additional carriers including Metro by T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, and others in the near future.
