Meta Makes Mixed Reality More Accessible with the Quest 3S
Meta has introduced a more affordable version of its popular Meta Quest 3 headset, called the Meta Quest 3S. Priced at $299, the Quest 3S offers similar features to the original Quest 3 but with a few modifications to make it more budget-friendly. Alongside this release, Meta has reduced the price of the Quest 3 from $649 to $499, making both headsets more accessible.
The Meta Quest 3S retains the full-color mixed-reality capabilities of the Quest 3 but comes with a slightly narrower field of view and a redesigned exterior. Both headsets are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, ensuring smooth performance. As Meta rolls out the Quest 3S, it is also phasing out its older models, the Quest 2 and Quest Pro.
The Quest 3S is compatible with Meta’s entire library of apps and games, and will support upcoming titles like Batman: Arkham Shadow. Positioned as an entry-level option, the Quest 3S is aimed at users who are new to mixed reality or looking for an upgrade from older models. Meanwhile, the Quest 3 remains the premium choice for more experienced mixed-reality enthusiasts who want the best features Meta has to offer.
