Dyson has introduced its latest floor-cleaning device, the Wash G1, which differs from its cordless stick vacuums by forgoing suction in favor of mopping with water and agitation. Priced at $699.99, the Dyson Wash G1 is equipped with separate clean and dirty water tanks, two counter-rotating brush rolls that are continually cleaned with fresh water, a 500-micron mesh for debris capture, and an end-of-use self-cleaning cycle.

Despite its sleek appearance, the Dyson Wash G1 weighs slightly over 12 pounds when its 27-ounce clean water tank is full. Both the water tank and built-in battery are designed to cover up to 3,100 square feet on a single fill and charge.

After cleaning, the device's charging station supports the self-cleaning cycle, ensuring the mop is ready for future use. This cycle rinses internal components, but users must manually empty the dirty water tank.

While not a replacement for a vacuum, the Wash G1 can collect some debris, separating it from the dirty water into a small tray located between the rollers. This tray also requires periodic emptying. Users can choose from three hydration levels for varying degrees of scrubbing intensity. Water is delivered to the microfiber rolls at 26 points, and the rollers self-clean 250 times per minute. For tougher stains like oil, a compatible cleaning solution can be added, though Dyson claims water and agitation handle most cleaning tasks.

The Dyson Wash G1 is slated for release this fall and you can sign up to be notified when available HERE.
