Beats has just announced the Solo Buds, new $80 wireless earbuds that promises up to 18 hours of playback on a single charge. Although there are some limitations, the extended battery life at this price point may be appealing enough for many users.

The Solo Buds boast the longest battery duration of any Beats earbud model to date, offering a significant 18 hours of listening time. However, it's important to note that the carrying case does not include its own battery. This means the earbuds will not recharge unless the case is connected via a USB-C cable to a power source like a smartphone, laptop, or tablet. Despite this, the case is more compact due to the absence of an internal battery, and the earbuds can quickly gain an hour of playback from just five minutes of charging thanks to Beats' Fast Fuel technology.

The Solo Buds feature ergonomic acoustic nozzles and vents that enhance sound performance and reduce ear pressure. The package includes four sizes of ear tips to ensure a comfortable fit and effective passive noise isolation, as there is no active noise cancellation (ANC) capability. Instead, a secure fit is essential for minimizing background noise.

The earbuds are equipped with dual-layer transducers to minimize sound distortion across all frequencies, aiming to deliver crystal-clear audio quality. Users can customize the onboard controls for easy access to music, calls, and voice assistant functionalities. There's also an option to adjust volume through a press-and-hold gesture.

The Solo Buds also offer seamless integration with both Android and iOS devices, supporting one-touch pairing, automatic setup, and compatibility with the Find My and Find My Device services. While iOS users have built-in support, Android users can utilize a dedicated Beats app for further customization of controls.

Solo Buds will be available in black, gray, purple, and a distinctive transparent red and will be available in June. All colors will be priced at $80.
